-  Attorney Tristan R. Pettit was recently invited to present a seminar at the State of Wisconsin Court Commissioners’ Annual Conference. Held on November 9, 2009 at the new Harley-Davidson Museum, this seminar addressed various topics affecting Wisconsin’s court commissioners in the area of landlord-tenant law.

-  Attorney Laura J. Petrie spoke at a Milwaukee Bar Association continuing legal education seminar on November 5, 2009 entitled “Health Care Powers of Attorney for Attorneys: A Workshop.” Also presenting at the noontime seminar was Milwaukee County Probate Court Commissioner Patrice A. Baker.

-  On October 24, 2009, Attorney Tristan R. Pettit spoke to more than 130 attendees at a seminar that was jointly sponsored by the City of Milwaukee and UW – Milwaukee on various landlord tenant law topics.

-  Attorney John A. Stocking was one of several presenters at a full-day seminar held at the Milwaukee Bar Association on October 23, 2009 entitled “Navigating the Trust Process from Start to Finish.” Attorney Stocking spoke on “Recognizing the Different Types of Trusts” and “Fundamental Understanding of Ethics in Trusts.”

-  Petrie & Stocking attorneys Tristan R. Pettit and Lydia J. Chartre spoke at the Apartment Association of Southeastern Wisconsin’s October, 2009 membership meeting on the topic of using Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) to hold rental property, and the various procedures an LLC must follow in order to avoid personal liability for individual LLC members.

-  Attorney Thomas Halloran has recently been invited to become a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society. LCA Fellows are selected and invited into membership after being evaluated on effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and trial work, along with ethical reputation.

-  On September 16, 2009, Attorney Tristan R. Pettit presented a seminar on the topics of “Causes for Eviction” and “Notices Terminating Tenancy” at the AASEW’s 10th Annual Conference and Tradeshow held at Serb Hall in Milwaukee. Later that same month, Attorney Pettit presented a seminar on various landlord-tenant law topics for a real estate management class at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
